Welcome to Fight Club.
“Set your minds and keep them set on what is above, the higher things, not on the things that are on earth” (Colossians 3:2).
Faith is simply seeing what God sees. It’s choosing God’s way, even when things look differently in the natural. When you set your thoughts on higher things, you are looking at life through your eyes of faith and seeing what God sees.
For example, you may have a financial need today, but when you look higher, you see God’s promise to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory. You may have sickness in your body today, but when you look higher, you see that Jesus paid for your sickness and diseases. You may feel lonely today, but when you look higher, you see that God has promised to never leave you nor forsake you.
As you study the Word of God, you are setting your thoughts on higher things. As you set your thoughts on higher things, your faith will become stronger, and you will begin to see those things become reality in your life. You’ll see God’s hand of blessing, and you will live the abundant life He has prepared for you.

Who will love our daughters?
Who will love our daughters when abuse is the norm? Who will love our daughters from this generation of young men who are being raised by a form of music that promotes sexual and physical violence towards women as acceptable making the violation silent and invisible? And what of our daughters whose acceptance of these disturbing, hateful lyrics is because they simply didn’t notice them or they don’t matter ‘cause the beat is so tight? So…to my women, when will we stop singing the songs, buying the tickets and cheering in the stands? When will we make the connection that through our acceptance, our financial support we are reinforcing a mentality that makes it okay to gang rape a girl and proudly pass pictures around of the incident or even lead to committing brutal crimes like the one we are witnessing in Cleveland. When will we love ourselves, our daughters and our sons enough to say…NO MORE?
Woulda been nice to hear from two close friends from school about what happened today, but it’s fine..
I really appreciate all the calls/text/FB etc tho that I’ve gotten today from friends and family all over the nation. My family, thank God, is okay but those in Moore, Oklahoma have lost everything. One of my classmates from high school lost his home. It’s so disheartening to see fellow Oklahomans suffer like this, but it’s also refreshing to see soooo much love and support from people all over the state too. I plan on going out to volunteer sometime this week.
This state may bother me sometimes with it’s hyperconservative values and sometimes prejudice mindsets..but Lord knows I will always call Oklahoma my home.
Thoughts and prayers to Moore,OK.
